The onset of Fall in Rhode Island is one of my absolute favorite things about living where we live. To begin with, the weather is temperate and lovely, the emerging natural colors of autumn are brilliant and the energy of “back to school” time along with the prospect of new opportunities and a clean slate is a refreshing feeling that I look forward to EVERY year — even though it’s been MANY years since I’ve had to worry about going back to school.
Since Willie and I are both teachers, we typically find ourselves preparing the business for a new “school year” every September just like a “regular” school teacher does. For example, if you haven’t already seen it, I encourage you to check out the updates to our online store! Willie and Grace worked very hard to have it ready in time for back to school. When I was a kid, I remember how the classrooms on the first day of school were always freshly decorated with welcome banners, joyful pictures of kids returning to class and graphic representations of the curriculum we were about to become acquainted with. Since our website is like our classroom, I definitely feel a parallel between the new look of our site and a school teacher decorating their classroom for the returning students. I am really excited about the look and usability of this new site and I think that, once you’ve taken a look, you will be happy with the improvements we made. Willie and Grace did an excellent job.
I know that many of our students take a break from their subscriptions over the summer and return to us, habitually, every fall. It is important to rest when you need rest, but now is a great time to get back to practicing the piano through one of our $99 promotions that we are offering this September.
